Industrial PC offers cellular modem

Lanner announced a fanless industrial PC with built-in GPS and 3G cellular capabilities. The LEC-7020 has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, two gigabit Ethernet ports, digital I/O, 2.5-inch disk storage, and a Mini PCI Express expansion slot, the company says.
According to Lanner, its LEC-7020 (left) distinguishes itself from typical box PCs aimed at the industrial and embedded markets by including both a GPS receiver and 3G cellular. The company doesn't provide any information about the underlying chipsets or available operating frequencies, but mention of a SIM slot suggests that the device is intended for GSM networks.
Lanner says the LEC-7020 also offers wireless local area networking (802.11 flavors not specified), plus a variety of wired connections. The front of the device, pictured below left, includes digital I/O (four in, four out, via a DB9 connector), four USB 2.0 ports, two gigabit Ethernet ports, and audio (mic in and line out) ports, according to the company. Maximum memory, as expected on PCs using this chipset, is 2GB of DDR2 RAM, via a single SODIMM slot, Lanner adds.
According to Lanner, the LEC-7020 supports resolutions of up to 2048 x 1546 pixels via its VGA output, while LVDS graphics output is an available option. Operating from 14 to 131 deg. F (-10 to 55 deg. C), the computer has a Winbond W83627 temperature sensor and watchdog timer, the company adds. Specifications listed by Lanner for the LEC-7020 include:
