Wind River is offering an evaluation of its Wind River General Purpose Platform, Linux Edition software and tools. Wind River Commercial Grade Linux is engineered, integrated, tested, and validated at the same superior level of quality our customers expect from Wind River's VxWorks operating system.
Linux Run-Time
Wind River General Purpose Platform, Linux Edition, is built on a standard Linux 2.6.10 distribution and combines a high-performance, preemptible kernel environment with a full range of networking applications, file systems, and security features. The platform also comes with a unique build system toolset to help customize your distribution -- or you can use a prebuilt binary BSP and file system for rapid installation and prototyping.
Workbench Development Suite
This evaluation version includes Wind River Workbench, our integrated development suite based on the Eclipse framework. Workbench offers broad capabilities that support the entire development life cycle, from hardware bring-up to platform and application development, enabling standardization on one common development environment across the enterprise.
System Requirements - Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Workstation 3, Update 5, or RHEL Workstation 4
- GNOME or KDE
- CD-ROM drive
- Intel Pentium 4 class processor; 1.7GHz or higher is recommended
- 512MB RAM required; 1GB recommended
- 10GB minimum disk space (more will be required for source code, additional packages, and file systems
- TCP/IP protocol installed and enabled
- Mozilla 1.7 (or newer) or Netscape Navigator 7.0 (or newer)
