IBM showcases IPv6, other advanced functions on Linux watch -- At the recent LinuxWorld Expo & Conference in San Francisco, IBM demonstrated IP layer mobility using IP version 6 and Intelligent notification on the next generation of its Linux wrist watch prototype. IBM says they are the first to demonstrate Mobile IP version 6 on such small platforms as a wrist watch. Story

uClibc version 0.9.15 is released -- Those cramming Linux into tight quarters will be pleased to know that uClibc 0.9.15 is now available. New MIPS32 processor supports multi-threaded Embedded Linux -- Lexra announced a high performance MIPS32-based processor for use in its SOCs for packet processing applications. The 500 MHz LX4580 implements 4-way hardware multi-threading, and supports Linux with full SMP support running on all four hardware threads. Story
'First 1-chip USB OTG controller' boasts Embedded Linux -- TransDimension and Intrinsyc Software demonstrated a new single-chip USB OTG (On-The-Go) host/peripheral controller, the OTG243, at this week's USB 2.0 Developer's Conference The demo was hosted on Intrinsyc's SA1110-based CerfPDA development platform, and made use of TransDimension's USB OTG drivers and stacks running on either Linux or Windows CE.
