The Fourth Real-Time Linux Workshop invites the developer community to attend the upcoming conference and workshop to be held December 6-7, 2002 at the Computer Science Department of Boston University.

Conference overview

The GNU/Linux operating system, originally designed as a general purpose operating system, is nevertheless employed in many embedded and real-time applications where some form of real-time performance is required. To meet these timing requirements, several approaches can and have been undertaken, either in the kernel, by add-ons, or by other means in order to guarantee real-time performance of the application running on top. These real-time Linux versions have been gaining more and more importance in industry. However, there are many questions unanswered for newcomers, users, and developers concerning topics such as: development tools, debugging applications, licensing models, stability of kernels, reliability of applications, and persistency and consistency of variants and their APIs.
