Axiomtek announced an "industrial-grade" Mini-ITX motherboard equipped with a dual-core Intel Atom D525 or single-core D425, either clocked to 1.8GHz. The Mano825 supports up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, providing dual display capability, PCI and Mini-PCI Express expansion, and I/O including USB 2.0, RS-232, gigabit Ethernet and SATA connections, says the company.Like last year's Mano800, the Mano825 adopts the 6.7 x 6.7-inch (17 x 17cm) Mini-ITX form factor, but instead of a Core i7 uses the more modest Intel Atom. Considering all the Axiomtek boards we cover here, we were surprised to find that this was only the second Atom-based Mini-ITX board released by the company, after the N270-based SBC86838.
Mano825
Like much of the x86 embedded world these days, Axiomtek is jumping on the dual-core Atom D525, clocked to 1.8GHz. A single-core D425, also clocked at 1.8GHz, is also available.
According to Axiomtek, the on-chip Intel GMA3150 graphics engine on either Atom enables designers to get by without a separate graphics card for most applications. These are said to include kiosk, POS, P)I (point of information), lottery machine, gaming, and industrial automation.

The Mano825 is equipped with up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, says Axiomtek. The motherboard is also said to support dual independent VGA and 18/24-bit single channel LVDS displays.
The board supplies dual SATA ports with transfer rates up to 3Gbps, but no SD expansion. Peripheral expansion includes a mini-PCI Express slot and a 32-bit PCI slot, says the company.

The Mano825 provides dual gigabit Ethernet ports on the coastline, as well as seven USB 2.0 ports, four of which have standard Type A connectors. There are also six powered RS232 ports, three of which sit on the board's coastline, says Axiomtek. Audio ports and PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports also are available, together with a VGA port.
Other I/O is onboard, and includes LPT, digital I/O, and an LVDS interface. Operating system support is said to include Linux, Windows 7, Vista, and Windows XP Embedded.
Features and specifications listed for the Mano825 include:
- Processor -- Intel Atom D525 (dual-core 1.8GHz) or D425 (single-core 1.8GHz); Intel NM10 controller
- Memory -- up to 4GB DDR3 (up to 800MHz) via 2 x 240-pin DIMMs
