Axiomtek announced a Mini-ITX motherboard employing Intel's Q57 PCH chipset, offering support for Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors. Designed for DVR and other video-enabled applications, the Mano800 supports up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and offers four RAID-enabled SATA ports, PCIe expansion, dual-display with DVI-D, plus USB, COM, and gigabit Ethernet I/O, says the company. With its 6.7 x 6.7-inch (17 x 17cm) Mini-ITX form factor and extensive RAID storage expansion, the Mano800 is primarily suitable for visual automation applications, says Axiomtek. These are said to include networked video recording, digital video recording, and visual inspection.
Like the recent Ibase MI957 Mini-ITX board, the Mano800 is equipped with an LGA1156 socket that supports Intel's Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors. (One can also pop in a Pentium for a slightly more affordable embedded solution.)

The Mano800 is equipped with dual SIMMs supporting up to 8GB of 1066/1333 DDR3 memory, says Axiomtek. The board integrates an Intel Q57 PCH chipset with an HD graphics core, "saving the expense and thermal design effort of an add-on graphics card," says the company. In addition, VGA and DVI-D ports are said to be provided for multiple display capability.

Storage is the chief calling card of the Mano800. In addition to an optional CompactFlash or SATA-ready CFast slot, the Mano800 offers four 3Gbps SATA ports with RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 support, says Axiomtek.
Meanwhile, a PCIe x4 expansion slot enables multi-port SATA RAID card or capture card configurations. If that's not enough, 10 USB 2.0 ports are available, says the company.

Other I/O includes two gigabit Ethernet ports with wake-on-LAN capability, two COM ports (RS-232 and RS-232/422/485), and eight-channel digital I/O. The board offers HD audio, with a Realtek ALC662 chip supporting mic-in, line-in, line-out, and speaker-ou, says the company.
PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports are also said to be available, along with a watchdog timer, hardware monitoring, and an SMBus for advanced monitoring and control. The Mano800 supports operating temperatures of 32 to 140 deg. F (0 to 60 deg. C), controlling fan speed to keep temperature within a specified range, says the company.
Stated Gary Tsao, product manager of Embedded Board and Technology Business Unit at Axiomtek, "This industrial grade Mini ITX motherboard is an excellent solution for NVR and DVR because it has a total of four SATA ports with RAID support and one PCIe x 4 slot."
Availability
The Mano800 will be available around the end of October, for Linux, Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP Embedded operating systems, says Axiomtek, which did not release pricing. More information, including a datasheet, may be found here.
