CELF conference 2005 demo session review
2005-01-27
The Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (CELF) hosted a technical conference for members and their invitees earlier this week. LinuxDevices.com's roving reporter attended an interesting session devoted to technology demonstrations, and assembled this complete list of what was there, to help our readers stay informed.
The session consisted of 23 vendor- or project-sponsored tables, which showcased various Linux-related software and hardware technologies of interest to consumer device developers -- many of an experimental nature. Each demonstration was summarized by a poster, the contents of which appears below. Oh, and be sure not to miss the LinuxDevices.com selection for the CELF conference "Best of Show" award -- Samsung's Miniket multi-function diskless camcorder that doubles as a digital camera, mp3 player, voice recorder, data storage device, and web cam. The Miniket runs a 2.6-series "ARM-no-MMU" uClinux kernel that can boot to a shell in 80msec. Learn all about the amazing multifunction Miniket, the first of several Samsung products based on ARM-no-MMU Linux, in our detailed device profile.Enjoy . . . ! ![]() (Click to enlarge) Related Stories: ![]() (Click to enlarge) Related Stories:
